COMMUNICATION AND NETWORK

                                                    1)  MODULATION

Its the process of varying some characteristics of periodic wave with an external signal in order to send an information bearing signal over long distance. Also its the process of converting digital signal to analog.

                                                       2) DEMODULATION

Its the process of converting analog signals to digital. The process is for separating the original information or signal from the modulated carrier.

                                                          3) BANDWIDTH

Its a term used to describe how much information can be transmitted over a connection. Its usually given in bits per second (bps).

                  4) TCP/IP (TRANSMISSION CONTROL PROTOCOL / INTERNET PROTOCOL)

Its a basic communication language or protocol of the internet. It can also be used as a communication protocol in private networks either intranet or extranet.

                                                                  5) NODE

Its a connection point, either a redistribution point or an end point for data transmission.

                                                         6) CLIENT

Its the requesting program or user in a client or server relationship. It describes the relationship between two computer programs in which one program, the client, makes a service request from another program, the server, fulfills the request.

                                                           7) SERVER

Its a computer or software package that provides a specific kind of service to client software running on other computers . For example  a particular piece of software such as WWW server.

                                        8) NETWORK OPERATING SYSTEM

Its an operating system that includes special functions for connecting computers and devices into a local-area network(LAN). However its generally reserved for software that enhances a basic operating system by adding networking features.

                                       9) NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR

This are professionals with the responsibility of maintaining a  computer network. The administrator oversees the installation and updates to any software as well as install and maintain any hardware needed to operate the network.

SECONDARY STORAGE

                                                                   1) DISK CACHING

Its a mechanism for improving the time it takes to read from or write to a hard disk.

                                                          2) FILE COMPRESSION

Its when you use tools to make a file take up less space on a storage device. Its commonly used when sending a file from one computer to another over a connection that has limited bandwidth.

                                                          3) FILE DECOMPRESSION

Its when you return the file to its original size.

                                                        4) INTERNET HARD DRIVE

Its used to offer a means of accessing your computer files from any computer as long as that computer is connected to the internet.

                                                       5) OPTICAL DISC DRIVE

Its used to retrieve or store data on optical disc like CDS, DVDS,BDS, which holds much more information than classic portable media options e.g floppy disk.

                                                        6) SOLID STATE STORAGE

Its a nonvolatile, removable storage medium that employs integrated circuits rather than magnetic or optical media.

INPUT AND OUTPUT

                                                        1) ERGONOMIC KEYBOARD

This is a keyboard that is much easier on the hands. It helps with carpel tunnel problems and gives you    more room to move fingers around.

                                                                    2.) INKJET PRINTER

This is a type of printer that works by spraying ionized ink at a sheet of paper. It can removes colored images.

                                                                 3) LASER PRINTER

Its a popular type of personal computer printer that uses a non-impact, photocopier technology.

                                      4) MAGNETIC INK CHARACTER RECOGNITION

Its a character recognition technology used primarily by the banking industry to facilitate the processing of cheques.

                                        5) OPTICAL CHARACTER RECOGNITION

Its a recognition of printed or written text characters by a computer.

                                        6) OPTICAL MARK RECOGNITION

Its the technology of electronically extracting intended data from marked fields such as checkboxes and fill-in fields on printed forms.
